In the late 1920s, SP and its partner railroads offered four daily trains between Chicago and San Francisco: the Overland, the Pacific Limited, the Gold Coast, and the San Francisco Limited. Though it was on the older, 68-hour schedule, the San Francisco Limited, like the Overland Limited, was an all-Pullman train.
