Tacoma in 1938

When this brochure was published, Tacoma was the “lumber capital of America,” the “gateway to the mountain,” meaning Mount Rainier, and a “city of beautiful homes” and “fine parks.” The brochure is undated, but it cites data from 1937, so it was probably published in 1938.

In addition to yesterday’s Mount Baker brochure, I’ve now posted Northern Pacific’s multi-panel, black-and-white brochures for Portland, Seattle, Yellowstone, rivers, and the Rockies. There were probably several more.
