Maligne Lake Narrows Menu

Located about 20 miles from Jasper Lodge, Maligne Lake is itself about 14 miles long and less than a mile wide at its widest point. Near one of the Lake Narrows is Spirit Island (which at low water is a peninsula), and just about every photograph of this island has a canoe or kayak in it.

Canadian National used such a photograph on this mid-1930s menu, as well as on postcards and other advertising. However, the sight became really popular when Kodak put a similar photo in Grand Central Station in 1960, and since then it has become one of the most photographed sights in the Canadian Rockies.
