The Columbia Icefield is roughly halfway between Jasper and Lake Louise, so both Canadian Pacific and Canadian National passengers could take bus tours to the glacier. This menu says the glacier covered 150 square miles; Wikipedia says it covers 125 square miles. The smaller number is not necessarily due to recent global climate change, as the glacier has been steadily shrinking for at least 175 years.

Like yesterday’s menu, this one says it was used on a special train for the Southland Life Insurance Company trip to Banff. Since it is dated June 4 (five days after yesterday’s), this may have been the return trip. For the same $2.25 (just under US$15 today) as yesterday’s, the menu offers salmon, trout, Irish stew, or roast chicken, any of which came with soup, potatoes, vegetable, bread, dessert, and beverage.
