Canadian Pacific Summer 1970 Timetable

Although this timetable has 8 fewer pages than the 1967 edition, growing amounts of white space testify to the rapid decline of passenger trains. The timetable, for example, devotes three entire pages to just the Canadian’s slow journey from Montreal to Vancouver, plus an additional full-age ad.

Other than the Canadian and a few of the eastern trains, such as Montréal-Québec, most of the remaining trains are Dayliners, meaning Budd Rail Diesel Cars. CP owned 53 of these cars and used them everywhere from St. John, New Brunswick in the East to Vancouver Island in the West.
