All but two of the photos in the 1994 calendar show Union Pacific trains, and one of those two is of the Grand Tetons in a scene repeatedly shown in pre-1971 calendars. Providing some relief from the parade of GM and GE Diesels, one of the photos shows Union Pacific’s Challenger locomotive, the 3985, in Cheyenne.

Little effort was made to provide geographical representation. A photo in Missouri is the only one from the states added to the UP by the purchase of MP and MKT. There are three photos each from Nevada and Wyoming, two each from Colorado and Oregon, and one each from California and, as mentioned, Missouri. The best photo is one of Colorado’s Red Mountain Pass, which shows red rocks, yellow aspen, and an old mining building in the foreground.
