However, the May photo of Tower Bridge in Bryce Canyon was used on the cover of a 1956 Southern Utah parks booklet. While most of the photos are of the usual scenes, many are taken from unusual angles. The photo of Yellowstone Falls was taken from Lookout Point with some hikers in the foreground instead of the more usual Inspiration Point. The cattle photo shows some snow-capped mountains in the background that I am pretty sure are in Idaho. The December photo of Los Angeles beaches is taken from a higher angle than most.
On the other hand, several photos show a lack of imagination. The photos of Hoover Dam, the Sun Valley Ice Rink, Lake Marie, and Bear Lake are not identical to photos of these scenes on menus and other calendars, but they might as well have been as they were taken from almost exactly the same spots as those other photos. The June scene of the Tetons with the Snake River in the foreground isn’t used on any other menu or calendar, but it is one of the most common pictures taken of the Tetons as it is from a major highway turnout.
