Union Pacific 1951 Calendar

The 1951 calendar opens with a much more elaborate Willmarth map than the one shown on the 1946 edition. Inside are many interesting pictures, but only one, so far as I know, was used on a menu.

The photo of Dream Lake on the May calendar page has the same two young women in it as the June, 1949 calendar photo, which was also in Rocky Mountain Park. The two were probably taken on the same day.

The September photo of Jackson Lake was taken just few steps away from a photo that was used on a menu cover and also in the September 1950 calendar (and it would be repeated in the September 1954 calendar). This calendar has a few photos that break the mold, including the June photo of Red Arch Mountain, which is a rare Zion calendar photo that does not include the Great White Throne.

The photo of Otter Crest is one of three or four Oregon Coast scenes pictured on a Union Pacific calendar over the years. The 1949 calendar, for example, showed Cannon Beach. In other years, some calendars had pictures of the California coast.
