This booklet lists 67 dude ranches (less than half the number found in the UP’s 1955 dude ranches booklet) and another 40 “camps, lodges, and resorts.” The brands shown on the cover are actual brands of some of the dude ranches listed in the booklet.

In addition to descriptions of each facility, the booklet is illustrated with lots of beautiful black-and-white photos and a few that are a bit peculiar. Page 28 has a photo of two people in sleeping bags with the caption, “‘Rolling out’ is a pleasure in the Colorado Rockies.” But they appear to be “rolled out” on solid granite, which could not possibly be comfortable.
The title page has a creepy photo of someone’s idea of a cowboy ashtray, which really has nothing to do with the rest of the booklet. Smoking didn’t have the stigma then that it does today, but still, they could have picked lots of better illustrations of western lodge style.
