1969 Centennial Booklet

Compared to yesterday’s brochure or any previous “brief histories” published by the Union Pacific, this 24-page booklet is extremely lavish, printed in four colors on high quality deckled paper.

Only about half the booklet is devoted to the construction of the transcontinental railroad, with the rest covering the history since that time. The booklet includes numerous black-and-white (and one color) photos and full-color paintings, including most of the Howard Fogg paintings that UP commissioned for the centennial as well as several more whose artists are not identified.
