This simple beverage menu was used in a North Coast Limited lounge car, meaning either the Traveller’s Rest car or the “lounge in the sky” vista-dome sleeper that replaced the observation car after that car was removed from the train in 1967. The menu seems to offer a wide variety of options, from Drambuie to Alka-Seltzer. Yet a close look reveals the menu is actually pretty limited.
There are just four soft drinks, Coca-Cola, 7-Up, ginger ale, and Fresca; seven wines; a few liquors; and “assorted brands” of beer. To go with the drinks, the menu offers peanuts, potato chips, pretzels, and beer nuts.
