When the original Jasper Lodge burned to the ground in 1952, CN hastily erected a new, more modern building. Today we have two menus featuring the lounge in that building. Though we have seen one of them before, the other is new.

The first a breakfast menu. Unlike lunch and dinner menus, Jasper Lodge didn’t date breakfast menus, but we’ve previously seen a 1958 dinner menu with this photo. Today’s could be from anywhere between 1953 and about 1960.

Second is a dinner menu dated 1958. The photo shows the same lounge including the giant chimney with a thunderbird sculpture, but it isn’t the same photo. It’s curious that CN would use two nearly identical photos of a not-particularly scenic location. This might be done to update the scene, but with no dateable hairstyles or cars in the photo, there is nothing to update. It is especially peculiar since both were used in 1958.
