This was the first timetable to feature the streamlined Challenger. The heavyweight train of that name was discontinued in 1947 and replaced by the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast was still on this timetable, but would disappear by the end of 1954.

The back cover of this timetable (which was contributed by a Streamliner Memories reader) noted two other changes. First, the original City of Denver had been replaced by moreSecond, the extra fares that UP charged to ride the City of Los Angeles were removed. I’m not sure if UP ever charged extra fares for the City of Portland, but if so they were dropped by 1937. The City of San Francisco still had extra fares in this timetable but they were dropped later in 1954.
