Here’s a menu cover we haven’t seen before showing Yoho River Valley, with Takakkaw Falls in the distance. However, I am chagrinned to discover that a similar menu, also used on the Empress of Scotland but in 1957, is in the Chung collection. Somehow I missed it when searching through all of that collection’s 800-plus menus.

This is a lunch menu and so it’s a little smaller than dining car menus. However, it’s entirely possible that this photo could have been used on a dining car menu. This one is dated July 3, 1954.

Here’s the breakfast menu for the following morning, July 4. Although the Empress would not arrive in Liverpool until July 7, this is the last menu I have from Ms. Hruska’s outbound trip.
We are looking south from about halfway up the Yoho Valley. Takakkaw Falls is behind and left of us; the prominent streak in the distance is the slide path down Cathedral Crags that crosses the CP tracks at Partridge. The modern Spiral Tunnel pullout on the highway is roughly behind the fat tree in the middle of the photo.
