Once a thriving sawmill town whose population peaked at 4,000 in the 1950s, Ocean Falls is accessible only by boat or seaplane. The sawmill that supported the town closed in 1980 and today it is nearly a ghost town with only a few dozen full-time residents. In 1963, when this menu was issued, the town was entirely owned by Crown Zellerbach, and judging from the photo a high percentage of people lived in multifamily housing.

This menu is dated May 4, four days after yesterday’s, and the music program includes, as usual, some Mantovani, some Hawaiian instrumentals, Chet Atkin’s guitar, and similar “easy listening” type music. All are labeled “part two,” so like yesterday’s this is probably from the second night out.
