Trail Riding Dinner Menu

Sea scallops, lake trout, beef tenderloin, and lamb are just four of the seven entrées on this dinner menu, which has the same date as yesterday’s lunch menu. These are supplemented by a choice of three appetizers, four soups, three vegetables, three ways of preparing potatoes, two salads, seven deserts, and, of course, the usual coffee, tea, or milk plus buttermilk.

I am sure there were lots of nice trails for hiking and horseback riding in Jasper Park. But the photo accompanying this menu lacks the grandeur found in Banff and Yoho national parks, the ones served by the Canadian Pacific. CP chose that route both because it was shorter and to be as close to the U.S. border as possible (defending itself against the Great Northern), but CN got the lower elevation pass.

Alert readers may have noticed that these menus seem to be color coded with the bands at the tops and bottoms of the cards: red was for breakfast, blue for lunch, and green for dinner. Unfortunately, this one breaks the pattern, as it is a dinner menu with blue bands.
