“Does this picture of lovely Lake Louise make you feel strenuous?” asks the photo caption. By that they mean “energetic,” but that’s not how I would use the word “strenuous.” Maybe it’s a Canadian thing.

I thought I already had menus with this photo, but it turns out I was thinking of the photo below, which is taken from a slightly different angle and is in portrait mode rather than landscape mode. Both menus were used in the Chateau dining room and both are identical to the dinner menu presented yesterday.

We’ve seen the above photo on at least two different menus in slightly different formats each. A 1951 dining car menu has a yellow background instead of white. A 1963 steamship menu has the photograph centered instead of slightly to the left.
