This calendar has two railroad photos: a BN train crossing the former Great Northern bridge across Two Medicine Creek in Montana and a BN train crossing the former Northern Pacific bridge across Lake Pend Orville near Sand Point, Idaho. April, May, and June present colorful photos of domestic and wild flowers.

February’s photo, however, was another cloudy, misty picture of the Oregon Coast. I love the Oregon Coast, but did BN really have to have a picture of it — and sometimes up to three pictures — in every one of its calendars? And did so many of those photos have to obscure the best qualities of the coast by filtering them through fog and mist?
This calendar probably came with another message from the railroad president, but I didn’t find one with the copy I scanned. Since they all looked and sounded alike, I didn’t feel I was missing anything.
