BN’s 1980 calendar used the same format as in 1979, but changed the cover color from brown to Cascade green, the railroad’s official color. This made a lot more sense. It retained the hand lettering, which as a rusty calligrapher I can appreciate. Except for the year, most of the letters were the same as on the 1979 cover, but I note that the top line is shifted a little so the 9 in 1980 could join with the second L in wall.

I’d have to rate August, September, and December photos as also pretty marginal.
Between Photoshop’s color adjustments, high-dynamic range photography, and panoramic photography, today’s digital amateurs can produce photos easily superior to those of professional photographers of the film era. But the quality of the January, April, May, October, and November photos suggests that BN could have made better selections for some of the other months.
