Twenty-four floor plans are included, including plans for cars on the Empire Builder, Western Star, Winnipeg Limited, Internationals, and Red River. For some reason the Gopher and Badger are not included even though those trains were streamlined in 1952.

All of the trains shown here had an observation car except the Winnipeg Limited. (The Gopher and Badger also had observation cars.) In the case of the Red River, the observation doubled as a lunch-counter diner. It is also interesting to see the contrast between the Western Star‘s huge observation car, with at least 36 seats, and the tiny observation lounge with only eight or nine seats on the Empire Builder, which relied on domes for sightseeing rather than a tail car.
