This patriotic menu observes the fact that “For the first time in our peacetime history, Canadian sailors, soldiers and airmen are on active duty overseas,” meaning in Korea. While the Korean War had ended by the time this 1954 menu was issued, some Canadians remained stationed in Korea for another couple of years.

This menu doesn’t give the name of a train but says it was used for “buffet car service.” The range of offerings and prices are not significantly different from yesterday’s dinner menu in the full dining car except that the high-end items such as sirloin steak, charcoal broiled salmon, and lamb fricassee are omitted from this menu.
