The Ranch-o-Grams were a series of humorous postcards issued by Northern Pacific to promote dude ranches. Eight of them are shown in Railroad Postcards of Yellowstone of which I found five in the Minnesota History Center Northern Pacific archive.

The book suggests that few Ranch-o-Grams were issued either because of “company politics” or a conflict with the unnamed artist who did the illustrations. As a result, they are fairly rare.

The Ranch-o-Grams are undated, but the back mentions that the North Coast Limited‘s “observation and dining cars are air conditioned,” which indicates they were issued in about 1935.

The sketches appear to have been done with colored pencils. Every every article of clothing tends to be done in one color and animals in one or two colors, and shade of darkness are obtained by more dense use of that color.

The captions for each card are less inspired by the pictures than the pictures are inspired, in an ironic way, by the captions.
