Coach Ticket Envelope

This looks like an envelope that would be used by a conductor, but the labels on it make it appear to be something that would be given to a coach passenger. The top part is a hat check, meant to be torn off and put above the passenger’s seat to show their ticket has been collected.

The second stub was also torn off and given to the passenger while the conductor kept the envelope and the accompanying ticket. If the passenger was making a stopover or change of trains, the conductor would return the envelope before the passenger got off the train.
