California Throws a Party

Yesterday’s edition of West had the month and year in the masthead, but this one does not. It encourages people to go to the 52nd Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, which took place in 1941, as well as other events beginning in December. So this was probably issued in November, 1940, give or take a month.

In addition to Palm Springs on the cover, color photos feature everything from skiing in the Sierras to Catalina Island. But the text focuses on the “300 colorful pageants, fiestas, celebrations and sports events” planned in California during the winter.
