Tiny Cascades Brochure

For some reason, Great Northern used two different shapes for its tiny brochures. While yesterday’s brochure, for example, was 5-1/2″ by 17″, this one is 8-1/2″ by 11″. Either way provides 12 panels and the same number of square inches of print area.

Since I live in the Cascades, I naturally find this one very attractive. It pictures Mounts Rainier, Baker, St. Helens, Hood, and Index, plus Crater Lake, Lake Chelan, Spirit Lake, and an unidentified mountain lodge. The Cascades, “where Nature built her ‘skyscrapers,'” are clearly Great Northern’s answer to the Colorado Rockies advertised by so many other railroads.
