Big Sky Blue Ticket Envelope

Great Northern never managed to get more than a minority of its rolling stock painted Big Sky Blue before the merger into Burlington Northern. But it did redesign ticket envelopes and other stationery using the new color. Here’s a ticket envelope dated 1969, though presumably similar envelopes had been in use as early as 1967.

The envelope lists seven trains; notably absent are the Red River, which ended service in 1968, and the Portland-Seattle pool train, which is presumably not listed because it didn’t have its own name.
