We’ve previously seen booklets like this one from 1949 and 1952. The text in all three is pretty similar, but the layout and photos used in the 1949 version is quite different from today’s 1951 edition.

Other than the background colors on the covers, the 1951 and 1952 editions are pretty similar. Curiously, a black-and-white photo on page 2 of today’s booklet appears in color in the 1952 version. A close look reveals the photos were taken from the same location but they are not the same photos nor are they of the same train as the train in the 1952 booklet has a few more cars.

Other differences between the two booklets are even more minor. Pages 7 and 11 of today’s booklet have black-and-white photos that are printed with yellow or blue background tints; the 1952 edition forgoes these tints. The lists of accommodations and outfitters on page 13 and of railway agencies on page 15 were updated in the 1952 version. Otherwise the booklets are nearly identical.
