On December 11, 1936, Albert Frederick Arthur George Windsor was crowned King George VI of the United Kingdom after his brother, Edward VIII, abdicated so he could marry a divorced woman. To provide an aura of continuity with his father, King George V, Bertie, as he was known to his family, elected to style himself King George even though he had a younger brother who went by the name of George.

Canadian National commemorated this event with a series of six menus each focusing on a different part of the coronation ceremony. Being an Irish-American (though not sure the Irish part has anything to do with it), I have no affinity to the British monarchy, so we can be grateful that another Streamliner Memories reader has collected these menus and provided us with scans.
This menu features the coronation chair, which has been around (says the back of the menu) “since Edward the First was crowned in 1274.” Inside is a typical a la carte menu listing fish, steaks, chops, eggs, omelets, and more. No doubt this menu was usually provided to dining car patrons with an insert listing table d’hôte meals.
