This calendar, whose scans were contributed by the same Streamliner Memories reader who provided the Frisco calendars last July, measures about 8-1/4″ by 10-3/4″, perhaps slightly cut down from 8-1/2″ by 11″ stock. The choice of green ink on eye-searing electric yellow paper makes it somewhat hard to read.

It appears to be a General Motors SD40-2, one of the latest editions to the Katy family in 1982 as the railroad purchased 38 of them between 1978 and 1981. However, those locomotives were numbered 600 through 637. Those were the highest-numbered locomotives owned by M-K-T after 1960, as all Katy Diesels in that time period had three-digit numbers. Maybe an M-K-T fan call tell us how the locomotive in this photo got the number 1965.
