I mentioned a few days ago that I sometimes acquire menus whose covers I already have either because they came with other menus or by mistake. I purchased these three by mistake thinking I didn’t have one of them when it turned out I did. But they still proved to be interesting as they were used in UP’s southern Utah park lodges.

Even more interesting, all three menus are postmarked even though there is no mailing address. The above menu even has a 2¢ postage stamp that a close look reveals has almost exactly the same view of the Grand Canyon as is on the menu.
The first menu, which is a Grand Canyon lodge beverage menu, was postmarked Fredonia, Arizona on July 1, 1958. The second menu, a breakfast menu, is postmarked Springdale, Utah, Zion National Park, on July 31, 1958.

The third menu was postmarked Bryce Canyon, Utah, on August 2, 1958. It has the same breakfast menu on the inside as the second one. Since I doubt many tourists hung around southern Utah from July 1 to August 2, I suspect these menus were collected by and postmarked for an employee of UP’s Southern Utah Parks company.
