Hopewell Rocks Menu

Hopewell Rocks are in the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy, which has some of the highest tides in the world.” These tides have eroded the bases of the rocks, leaving behind formations that have long intrigued people’s imaginations. The rock at the center of this photo, I believe, is one that partly collapsed in 2016.

This 1942 menu has a la carte selections on the left and beverages on the right. This indicates that the table d’hôte menu, which changed much more frequently, was a separate card or flyer that was inserted into the menu. I don’t have those inserts, but from this we can learn that diners could buy a sirloin steak for $1.25 (a little less than US$15 today).
