Canadian National Christmas Menu

Dated December, 1966, this menu cover was obviously made for the Christmas holidays. Although you can’t tell from the image below, which shows both the front and back covers of the menu, this menu has an odd shape, only 5-1/4″ wide but nearly 11-3/4″ tall.

Inside, the menu is printed in English on the left and French on the right. This only allowed room for an a la carte menu that offered entrées of salmon, pot roast, omelette, chicken salad, or prime rib. Soup, dessert, and beverages were extra. Diners also had a choice of chicken, ham, or cheese sandwiches. Multiply prices by 6 to get today’s U.S. dollars, so a full meal of soup, prime rib, apple pie, and coffee would cost about US$21.
