Union Pacific’s 1992 calendar contained seven pictures of trains, one trite photo of railroad tracks receding into a sunset, and four photos of scenic areas. Ex-C&NW tracks are represented in a photo of a UP train in Illinois. Ex-MP or MKT tracks are represented in two photos of UP trains in Texas. Otherwise, all photos are in the original UP territory.

SD40-2 in Desert Storm colors leading a train through Rattlesnake Gap in Texas with prickly pear cactus in the foreground. The other train photos show rather generic General Motors or General Electric locomotives in UP colors.
The most interesting train photo shows a UPThe scenic photos include two views of Oregon by La Grande photographer Jeffrey Torretta, a dramatic picture of Scotts Bluff in Nebraska by Wisconsin artist Kay Keekley, and a rather clichéd view of the Grand Tetons by John Lillard of Omaha. Admittedly, the lighting in that photo is very nice, but the foreground shows what has been called the most photographed barn in America. I suppose it has been frequently photographed for good reason, but I prefer more unusual views such as Torretta’s Sheep Rock photo and the Scotts Bluff photo.
