Vista domes have arrived and Northern Pacific can finally call its premiere train, the North Coast Limited, an equal to, or in some ways even superior to, the Empire Builder and Olympian Hiawatha. However, the Traveller’s Rest car would not be introduced for another year, and until then NP’s dining and lounge facilities, especially for coach passengers, were still inferior to its competition.

The back cover of this timetable shows a dome interior and invites people to “ask for a free copy of ‘Northwest Adventure,’ the picture story of a journey on the Vista-Dome North Coast Limited.” My copy of Northwest Adventure is dated 1966, but NP must have issued the first one a dozen years before.
