Passengers in the observation cars of the California Zephyr could use this on-board stationery to write friends about their journey. The letter and envelope was the same size as stationery for the Twin Cities Zephyr, as was the line, “Aboard the vista-dome [name] Zephyr” (though in a different font).

The CZ stationery had something the Twin Zephyr did not: instead of the Burlington Route logo found on the Twin letters, the CZ letters have a little train–with dome cars, of course–running across the top. Across the bottom of the letters for the Twin Zephyr was a list of the main cities on the route: Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis. The CZ letters listed instead the three railroads that operated the train.
