Canadian National had Dieselized its mainline trains with the introduction of the Super Continental in April, 1954, two months after this publication was issued. While images of that train is shown on the front and back covers, page 2 shows a steam-powered Continental. A page-by-page comparison indicates that, other than the outside and inside covers, all but one of the pages of this edition are nearly identical to the 1952 edition, but that one has no Diesels.
