In this 1946 menu, the wonders of four-color printing have replaced the lithographed covers of the Rio Grande’s pre-war menus. With yellow and green aspen and blue sky, the photo lives up to Colorado’s long-time tourist slogan, “Colorful Colorado” (though, to be complete, there should be some red rocks in the picture as well).

Inside, the unpriced menu was printed for the Ohio State Medical Association, whose members were on their way to the American Medical Association’s 1946 convention in San Francisco. Members traveling on the American plan could choose from grilled seasonal fish, fricasse of boneless chicken, or cold lunch meats.
