The Union Pacific would celebrate the centennial of its Last Spike ceremony in 1969. Perhaps in an effort to preempt this, Northern Pacific put a picture of its own Last Spike train on the cover of its menus in 1963, the 80th anniversary of the completion of its line from Lake Superior to the Puget Sound.

The inside of this menu is, unfortunately, blank, but it probably would have included NP’s usual fare of fish, lamb, chicken, and a sirloin steak. The diet-busting Great Big Baked Potato would have been available with a complete meal or a la carte.
