This is one of the first if not the first Union Pacific brochure to feature a Willmarth map on the back. Kenneth and William Willmarth did commercial illustration in Omaha and Union Pacific may have been their most important client. While a map was included in the 1938 Western Wonderlands brochure, the map isn’t signed and uses a different style from the cartoony-version on this brochure that is signed “Willmarth.”

The non-map side of this brochure devotes a full page (two 4″x9″ panels) each to California and Southern Utah parks, a half page each to the Pacific Northwest, Sun Valley, and Yellowstone, and a quarter page each to Colorado and dude ranches. It also includes a small, mail-in coupon people could use to get more information about any of these destinations.
