Here’s another VIA brochure that is not laid out in a panel format. It is focused on Eastern trains, but apparently that mainly meant the Ocean from Montreal to Halifax. Except for the Chaleur, most of VIA’s other eastern trains were aimed at business travelers.

In 1996, the Ocean and Chaleur were, in fact, the same train for the first 450 miles out of Montreal. The Ocean went six days a week; the Chaleur just three. On the days the Chaleur went, the eastbound trains split and westbound trains rejoined at Matapédia. As I recall, the dome car went to Halifax.
