Many railroads issued menus in series that followed a similar format with changes in photos, text, and graphics. The best-known series is probably the Union Pacific post-war photo menus, which used more than 140 different cover photographs.
I’ve attempted to identify all of the menus in most of the major series issued by western railroads, including Great Northern, Northern Pacific, Rio Grande, Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, and Union Pacific, as well as Canadian National and Canadian Pacific. Where possible, I go back to the the 1930s and in some cases the 1920s.
While I’ve already uploaded several series as posts, I’m also including them here as pages, the difference being that posts have a sidebar while pages don’t, so there is more room to display thumbnails. As I collect new menus, I’ll update the pages, but not the posts. You can access the pages here.
If you know of any menus or entire menu series that aren’t on these lists, please let me know. If you have such a menu or menus and a scanner, please send me scans. Thanks.
