In my quest to buy one of every Union Pacific color photo menu I sometimes end up buying ones I already have, either because they came with ones I didn’t or because I made a mistake. These two menus came with yesterday’s, and we’ve already seen at least three of each of them, but I’m including them today because the inner pages are different.

These menus were used on a tour featuring Sam Campbell (1895-1962), a nature writer who gave popular lectures about wildlife. In 1934, an official with the Chicago & North Western attended one of these lectures and hired Campbell to do such lectures for the railroad. Starting in 1948, the railroad sponsored Sam Campbell Specials, train tours that visited national parks and other sights in the West with Campbell giving lectures along the way.
